Who are ypu
I mean you!

Hello reader. You’ve been longing for another post on my blog right?😁. Here it is.πŸ‘‡πŸ‘‡πŸ‘‡

On a faithful day, I was sitting at the balcony of my house and some questions came to my mind and I couldn’t get exact answers to them and this made me questioned some young and old about who they are, their identity, how sure they have an identity and what their potentials are. Some of the answers I got were quite funny,😁😁 thoughtful and eye-opening😱.

These are questions we need to sincerely ask ourselves as an individual. They are self check questions that we don’t need to answer in a haste. Join me as I share my views on these questions.

Who Are You?

Hmmmm. If I’m to answer this question when I was five year old, I will just say that “I’m Okikiola Solaja” and this is the answer most of us will give when we were asked. Now, when I am asked same question, the answers I’ll give will be more than what I gave when was five year old because behind my name lies who I truly am. We need to know what is embedded or deposited in us as an individual and this explains that we are who we are because of God and that we do everything with God by our sides which makes us exhibit them to HIS glory.

What Is Your Identity?

Some of us might not take our identity serious as we supposed to. See, Identity is a very deep thing. It is what people see when they see you. The above question is what you cannot answer all by yourself because who you see in the mirror can’t actually depict or reflect who you are.

For example, an identity card entails someone’s name, sex, date of birth, height, address etc. Your own identity is far beyond these things, when we see ourselves, what do we see or what do people see cause there many things to call an identity and that’s if you’re determined to figure it out.

The Bible makes us to understand in 1Peter 2:9, Matthew 5:13-14 that we are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a peculiar people and that we are the salt of the earth and light of the world. This gives us the insight about our identity in God.

How Are You Sure You Have an Identity?

There must be an assurance of your identity. People telling you things they feel, see or know about you isn’t enough reason that you have what is called an Identity. The tangible reason is that God has said a lot of things about you even before it was Forseen by man and in the process, certain things started changing and manifesting.

What Are Your Potentials?

Many people see potentials as gifts, talents e.t.c but it is more than that. Potential can be seen as opportunities we’ve judiciously used and not the ones that have come that we’ve wasted. A potential that is not properly utilized, developed and implemented is not a potential. A potential that doesn’t last long is also not a potential. Let’s discover our potentials and make good use of them for the glory of God.

Having read what this post entails, I urge y’all to give ourselves a discovery and rethink on the above highlighted and discussed questions. I pray these discoveries will spring forth greatness in our lives in Jesus name.

Hi reader! Hope you’re doing good? Here’s another post on my blog, all you need to do is to read it gently and carefully. You will enjoy it!

The Prime Time is the time of youth in anyone’s life. It is a great and exciting privilege to be young. Youth is the ‘yesteryears’ of old age. The time of youth is also a period of making choices, encountering peculiar challenges and laying foundations (good or bad) for the future; choices that make indelible mark or footprints on one’s life and destiny.

However, the unfortunate thing about being young is that it comes once in a lifetime. As a lady , you can’t be ‘sweet sixteen more than once. Once you pass the age of sixteen, it is clear that you can never be sixteen again. So, whether choices are made consciously or unconsciously, they are often irreversible.

Let me give you a scenario. if you meet an accomplished old man, prosperous and celebrated, enjoying the care of his equally successful children, it did not just happen somewhere in his old age. It is the product of a series of wise choices that he made while in his teens and twenties. This might happen the other way round which will give a bad result in his old age.

Choices that will mark out an individual’s life for greatness and glory is made at ones young age. On the other hand, choices that will predispose you to perpetual defeat and failure are also made when you’re young.

“This time of your youth is the most crucial part of your lifetime; it is the determinant matrix of your entire future”.

The above quote simply states that the time of youth isn’t the time to be cosmetic or plastic, floating through life as if you’re in a dream but rather it is a time when an individual has to be deliberately authentic and realistic with ones choice.

Moreso, our prime time isn’t only for making choices; it is also the time for laying foundation for every aspect of future life. It is at this time that you lay foundation for your career in life, marriage and your destiny. It is a time of tremendous strength and energy, a time of freshness. It is the time all your nerves and instincts are seeking the strongest expression. The direction you ‘plough’ them, now that you’re young, determines the destination you will ‘reap’ in the years ahead. In fact, everything that you will become in the life is founded now in the time of your youth.

As it is now, ones prime time is also the time of warfare whereby you pitch your tent on whichever side you choose in the battle of life and this states that it is a time of raging battle between God and the devil for the soul of the youth. Victory largely depends on the choice made by the youth among several competing options. If you want to overcome in this battle now that you’re young and make the lord your choice, you will always be an overcomer in all areas of your life.

God is out, mercifully looking for you , so that you will make him your choice; but the devil is also fighting hard to make sure he has you on his side. The bible says in Ecclesiastes 12:1 ” so remember your creator in the days of your youth, before the difficult days come, and the years draw near when you will say, I have no pleasure in them”. So, if there’s any choice you’re making that is not of God, kindly retrace your steps so that God can be with you throughout your stay on this planet earth.

I urge y’all to take the right decision so as to have a bright future because it is NOW or NEVER.

Tell me what you feel about all what has been written or said in the comment section.

Hello readers. How are you doing? It’s been a while. I’ll be discussing about the above mentioned topic and I want you to read this carefully and digest it.

Worship is a word that we all hear and say anytime any day. Worship is the attitude of the heart and the response to the worthiness, greatness and goodness of God.

Based on my observation, I realized some of us get excited when our favorite music go on tour or the latest gadgets like our iPhones, Samsung galaxies , Android phones are released. We also get excited about watching the old or new blockbuster movies and our favorite sports team play.

I am not saying we shouldn’t be excited about it but on the contrary, why is that when it comes to the things of God, people suddenly begin to yawn with boredom, why don’t we get excited about worshipping God?

Is it something only do as church attendants? Worship isn’t just about singing nor performance; it is really about JESUS CHRIST. Praising God in song, using our God-given gifs and talents, being part and attending church are forms of worship but encouraging each other in our walk with Christ, living in accordance with God’s principles and offering our bodies as living sacrifices is what we call worship.

“Once your attitude is wrong in worship, it is purely mechanical, no connection to the spiritual”

We shouldn’t worship God with pompous external things(rites, ceremonies etc.) but in spirit from our heart, mind, soul and body. Your attitude towards God should be based on the conviction that HE is and that He is the rewarder of those who seek him diligently. Also, your attitude must be determined by the message of His word, His son and keeping the revelation of God himself in nature(Psalm 19).

Our attitude in worship is something that is in our power to control. It is by choice. You can choose to have the right attitude to worship and also choose to do the otherwise but I’ll implore you to walk and work on the right path because lots of blessings in it.

Here are a some right attitudes of worship that I have discovered in the Bible;

A) Thankfulness

Nevertheless, worship is just an act that can not be compared to a performance. It has to come from the heart. Otherwise, it would be nothing more than a show.

B) Honesty

C) Humility

D) Reverence (Heb. 12 vs 28)

E) Faith (Heb. 11 vs 6)

F) Joy (Psalm 100)

It is my hope above all that each of us chooses to truly worship God with our hearts, spirits and right attitude. I beseech y’all to get excited about serving God.

I pray that God Almighty help us to know him more in Jesus name.

Thank you.

Pride is a word we all are familiar with. Pride simply means having a feeling of being good and worthy. It can be used in a good sense as well as in a bad sense.

“Pride is easier to recognize than to define and easier to recognize in others than in oneself”

In a good sense, Pride means having a self respect. People can be satisfied with their achievements. They can be proud of something good, parents can be proud of their son or daughter and vice versa, people can be proud of their country.

On the other hand, pride can mean that someone has an exaggerated sense of feeling good which might mean that someone has no respect or regard for what others do. Someone who is described as proud may be arrogant.

There’s a Yoruba proverb that says “Igberaga ni o maa nsiwaju iparun” which simply means that pride sets in before destruction.

Proud people are annoying, right?. They are those who always thinks they are better than other people and never get tired of flaunting thetheir achievements and successes. Proud people think they are on top of the world and they find it difficult to make use the Five magic words that we all know rightly. which are: Please, Excuse me, sorry, Thank you and Pardon me. As you do not like prideful people, you have to be careful not to be like others who would not be annoyed with you as well.

Proverbs 29:23 says that pride brings a person low,but the lowly in spirit(humble) gain honour. This particular verse in the Bible tells us that if you are that type that feels that no one can correct me, I am this , I am that; I’m glad to tell you that ‘you are going no where!’

God also makes us to understand in proverbs 8:13 that he hates pride, arrogance, evil behaviour and perverse speech. And he will be happy if you desist from this cause humility is the fear of the lord; its wages are riches, honor and life.

Why not get off the garment of pride in your life? Why not allow the spirit of humility to set in? There are so many consequences of pride but I’m gonna mention some of it;

1. Pride makes us forget that our mental capacities are given by God.

2. It leads to destruction.

3. It blinds us to the truth of God’s word.

4. It prompts us to make carnal requests.

5. It destabilize our ministries and the society.

6. It promotes worldly behaviour.

7. Pride makes us overestimate our abilities.

If you are still struggling with pride knowingly or unknowingly and you want to get rid of it, here are some helpful things to do;

1. Do not compare yourself with anyone with regards to their achievements and capabilities.

2. Admit your mistakes; it’s a sign of maturity and wisdom.

3. Acknowledge the strength of others.

4.Give words of encouragement to those who are weaker than you.

5. Be willing to apologize if you have done wrong.

6. Don’t allow appreciations or salutations get into your head.

7. Be content and thankful with what you have irrespective of your condition.

8. Do away with selfishness.

9. Do not compete against anyone nor envy others with or without reasons.

With the help of God and the above highlighted solutions to pride, I have been able to convince you that “the proud goes nowhere”. I urge you all to desist from things or persons that may make us go back to our Vomits Pertaining to “PRIDE”. The Lord will help us in Jesus name.

After several deliberations, research, readings and conversations, I found out there are some certain things that gets individuals and the society at large frightened which I feel can be confronted physically, socially and biblically. Let’s check it out!!!πŸ‘‡πŸ‘‡πŸ‘‡

1. Fear of change:- Sometimes, we tend to be frightened because of the change we are about to get accustomed to thinking it might make or do the otherwise to us. Many times, we find ourselves in weary or bored situations that we get restless and begin to pray: “Lord! Something has to change!” and when God brings the change we say, ” what are you doing, Lord?” Let’s get this straight, without change there is no growth, and anything that is not growing is dying. CHANGE is a fact of life and the more we fear and resist it, the more we are resisting God. God Himself does not change, but he definitely changes people, circumstances and things. Learn to embrace the change!

2. Fear of Failure:- The fear of failure is one of the different kinds of fear that affects the core of an individual or being. This fear is crippling because it holds us back from acting on our desires and it certainly serve as a constraint in fulfilling our destiny(s) . This kind of fear is especially active in us when we think of doing something we’ve never done before. We are afraid we will fail, so we fail to try. Firstly, Let’s hold on to a verse in the Bible which says “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me”(Philippians 4:13). And secondly, there is no such thing as failure if you simply refuse to quit.

3. Fear of Sacrifice:- Lately, I observed that people are afraid of making self or selfless sacrifices (e.g giving alms) that We ask ourselves questions of “if I do this,” what will it cost me? Or how comfortable am I going to be? The truth is, anything we do for God requires an investment. Get rid of the fear of sacrifice when God calls or put a dream in your heart. Be determined that you will pay the price and pass the test. I assure you , it is worth it.

4.Fear of Not Pleasing God:- This is very sad, the truth is that God isn’t nearly as hard to please as human beings think He is! If you want to go higher in God, you must let go of the fear that imperfections will keep you from pleasing God cause if you could be perfect, you would not need Jesus. Your willingness to keep pressing towards the mark of perfection is what is required of you by God.

If you really love God, you will not want to sin or displease God.

5. Fear Of What People Think:- If you want to break free from where you are and move to the next level, you must deal with the fear of what people think. Apostle Paul dealt with this issue in Galatians 1 :10: “If I were seeking popularity with men, I should not be a bond servant of Christ.” Had he chosen to care about what people thought of him or sought for popularity, he could not have served the Lord the way he did. With the help of God, I’ve been able to get rid of the feeling or fear of what people think.

Learn not to be part of the group; we don’t want them to Judge us, criticize or speak negatively about us. Just focus on God.

In a nutshell, Give confrontation to any kind of fear that has pulled you down or about pulling you cause chickens have no place in the sky with an eagle. I urge you all to face your fears; spread wings and fly with courage and boldness so you can step up to greatness.

Thank you.
